Registered nurses, specializing in women's health, are available for you by phone for any questions. You are welcome to contact us during business hours: Sunday-Thursday between 08:00-20:00, and on Friday between 08:00-13:00, at 507*.

Outside of office hours, a general medical consultation center is at your disposal, operating 24/7, at *507.

Physical Activity Workshop for Women in Menopause

Leumit's exercise class for menopausal women is intended for women aged 45 to 65, with the belief that regular physical activity helps and alleviates menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes, bone density loss, restlessness and fatigue. Staying active during menopause increases estrogen levels and metabolism rate and helps maintain a normal weight.

The class includes 10 weekly sessions, conducted by a qualified fitness instructor, at a total cost of NIS 200.

Weight Loss and Pre-diabetes Workshop

Being overweight can negatively impact health, increasing the risk of heart disease, diabetes, stroke, and various types of cancer. Pre-diabetes is a condition where blood sugar levels are elevated, and the body does not use insulin properly. If left untreated, pre-diabetes can develop into diabetes, leading to potential damage to cells, nerves, and organs, as well as heart disease and other complications.

Leumit’s weight loss workshop is designed for customers over the age of 18 with a BMI of 27 or higher or those diagnosed with pre-diabetes. The program includes 10 weekly sessions led by a clinical dietitian, with each session lasting an hour and a half.

The program includes 10 weekly sessions, each 90 minutes long, led by a multidisciplinary team of a nurse, dietitian, and social worker.

It's not easy to be there for everyone and to support everyone and we wanted to make sure that you taking care of yourself. Leumit offers a variety of options for mental health support, assistance, help and treatments at our  medical centers, clinics and even by phone or video, whatever is most convenient for you.

Birth Control

There are a wide variety of contraceptives that invlove release of hormones, all requiring a prescription. The main ones are IUDs inserted into the uterine cavity by a gynecologist. Pills with different doses of estrogen and/or progesterone to prevent ovulation or implantation. A patch - estrogen and progesterone absorbed through the skin. A shot to prevent ovulation and a vaginal ring inserted for 3 weeks at a time. 

There are a large variety of non-hormonal contraceptives that block and prevent the passage of sperm and/or destroy the sperm, including condoms, which are also the only contraceptive that serves as protection against most sexually transmitted diseases. Diaphragm combined with spermicide (reusable) or a sponge with spermicide (disposable, can be purchased at pharmacies), inserted into the vagina before intercourse, vaginal film or anon-hormonal IUD inserted into the uterine cavity by a gynecologist for 3-10 years.

Natural contraceptives are considered the least effective in preventing pregnancy. It is important to know methods and how to recognize your fertile times. This include the The Fertility Awareness method, "Safe days" and the "Pull out method". 

The "Morning After Pill" emergency measure is  to be used after unprotected sexual intercourse (ie - not using contraceptives, forgetting a pills, torn condom etc).

Depending on type can be used up to 72-120 hours after unprotected sex.
