Remote Mental Health Services

Mental health is an inseparable part of physical health and the general well being of a person. Recognizing the importance of mental balance helps in developing coping tools and makes daily functioning easier.
In periods of emotional upheaval, of stress and worries, many experience distress or emotional difficulties, which may harm the quality of life and even the day-to-day functioning. 

For your convenience, Leumit offers an emotional therapy program provided by qualified therapists, via video or phone calls.

Receiving Mental Health Support with Leumit

Leumit provides a variety of services in the field of mental health with the help of a team of clinical and rehabilitation psychological experts, clinical social workers, doctors and creative, occupational therapy, specialist psychiatrists and more.

You are eligable for three phone calls with professional mental health workers, such as clinical psychologists, clinical social workers and arts therapists. In the link, information about an immediate psychological assistance service and contact phone numbers.

In the "Tzipor HaNefesh" clinics and in Leumit's medical centers there are multidisciplinary teams that include psychiatrists, psychologists, clinical social workers, art therapists, mental health nurses, occupational therapists, dieticians and more.

The treatments begin with an initial assessment meeting (intake), after which the appropriate intervention plan is determined in collaboration with the applicant and according to the clinical need.

A variety of services are offered, such as: psychiatric evaluations, counseling and psychotherapy, assistance in exercising rights, couple and family therapy and group therapies on various topics. The treatment is given according to clinical (professional) need.

Depending on where you live, you can contact providers who have an arrangement with Leumit, who provide emotional therapy/psychotherapy for free.

Psychological treatment from home is for youth, women and men who face a variety of emotional and mental complexities, and who are not currently in the middle of a series of mental health treatments.

The treatment includes an initial consultation to determine a personalized treatment plan and then a series of treatments, tailored to individual needs. 

The treatment is held online via video calls using a smart phone or via phone call (depending on the selected service provider).

You can contact the service providers independently, and make an appointment for an initial assessment (intake) and then for a series of treatments. No referral is needed. 

 

 

An ambulatory treatment framework intended for people who experience mental difficulties and require a high therapeutic intensity without the need for accommodation. Day care units are located in mental health medical centers, general hospitals or in the community.

The treatment is approximately 6 hours a day, 5 days a week, and includes interventions in the field of mental health, individual and group treatments provided by a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses and occupational therapists.

A referral and financial commitment are required.

 

 

Home hospitalization in an alternative to hospitalization and is intended for people who are experiencing an acute mental crisis and need high-intensity intervention. The treatment is given at the patient's home by a multidisciplinary team that includes a psychiatrist, a lawyer, a nurse and other staff members from the health field.

Service is conditional to approval by Leumit mental health officials and a financial commitment.

An assessment visit is held by the home hospitalization provider, confirming suitability and creating an individualized treatment plan.

A Supportive Residential Facility serves as a therapeutic environment offering an alternative to psychiatric hospitalization. It is designed for individuals experiencing an acute mental health crisis who require intensive treatment.

The supportive residential facility is located within the community and accommodates up to 12 residents who stay on-site 24/7 under the care of a multidisciplinary mental health team. Treatment is time-limited and approved based on clinical necessity. Access to the service is contingent on approval from mental health professionals within the health fund and receiving authorization.

Once approved by the health fund, an evaluation visit can be scheduled at one of the approved supportive residential facilities. During this visit, suitability for the program will be assessed. To determine eligibility for the service, individuals should consult their family doctor or treating psychiatrist.

Accessing Mental Health Services at Leumit

Referral by a Doctor

In cases where the treating physician or another healthcare professional identifies a mental health issue that requires evaluation, they can refer patients to an adult or child psychiatrist.

Direct Access

Leumit clients can directly access a psychiatrist or psychotherapy services, based on the list of service providers (including institutes and external clinics) available on the Leumit website, app, or through the medical center. This is subject to obtaining a referral form, where required.

Requesting a Referral Form

A referral form can be requested through the website, app, or medical center.

For continued treatment with a psychiatrist within the Leumit network via direct appointment booking, no referral form is required.
For continued treatment by a psychiatrist at an external institute or clinic, a referral form (membership or commitment) is required.
For psychotherapy treatment at Leumit medical centers, external institutes, clinics, or providers, a referral form is required.
