Surgery at Leumit

At Leumit, you can choose between surgery through the public track or surgery through the supplementary insurance (Shaban).

Surgeries through the public track

Leumit works with approximately 300 surgeons, including orthopedic surgeons, gynecologists, ophthalmologists, ENT specialists, and more. Leumit clients consult these physicians for care and evaluation. Eligible clients may undergo surgery at a private hospital under agreement, free of charge, with no copayment and without the need for supplementary insurance. After the surgery, follow-up care is provided at the physician’s clinic within Leumit.

Through Leumit’s public track, you can:

  • Choose your surgeon – We ensure you can undergo surgery with a physician of your choice from Leumit’s medical staff. A doctor you feel comfortable with and trust.
  • Have surgery at a private hospital – Surgeries can be performed at one of the private hospitals under agreement nationwide, including Assuta, Ein Tal, Nara (Tel Aviv), M.R.B (Bat Yam), Maayan (Haifa), Elisha, Eynaim, or the Ramat Aviv Medical Center, under excellent conditions and in a pleasant, comfortable environment.
  • Undergo surgery free of charge – With the surgeon of your choice, at a private hospital, at no cost.

Surgeries through Leumit Gold/Silver supplementary insurance (Shaban)

Clients insured through the supplementary insurance, like all Leumit clients, are entitled to surgery through the public track with no copayment. In addition, supplementary insurance members may choose a contracted surgeon who is not a Leumit physician and have the surgery performed through the supplementary insurance framework.

Surgery through Leumit Silver / Leumit Gold is subject to the following:

  • Surgery is available only with a surgeon who has an agreement with Leumit.
  • A waiting period of 12 months of membership applies for surgeries under Leumit Silver / Gold.
  • No reimbursement will be provided for surgery performed by a surgeon who is not under agreement with Leumit.
  • The insured pays a single copayment for the surgery, covering all cost components, with no additional payment required to the surgeon or hospital.
  • The copayment varies according to the supplementary plan (Silver/Gold), the selected contracted surgeon, and the selected contracted hospital.
  • Coverage under Leumit Silver / Gold includes the full cost of the surgery, including operating room fees, surgeon’s fees, and implanted devices.

Surgery can be stressful and worrying. However, when it is performed by a surgeon of your choice, under optimal conditions, and free of charge, the level of concern is significantly reduced.
